Shelton is an award-winning information security specialist. 

CSO Online named Shelton as one of the UK’s Top 30 Chief Security Officers at the CSO30 awards 2020. He was also the winner of Cyber Law enforcement Individual of the Year 2020 at the National Cyber Awards 2020. 

A highly experienced board advisor, educator and public speaker, Shelton is a specialist in a number of areas - enabling him to support management to identify risk, reduce exposure and achieve organisational objectives.

He is a subject matter expert in many disciplines including process improvement, organsational assessment and information security – and has worked closely with investigation teams alongside both UK Government agencies and international law enforcement. He has also sat on working groups for the NCSC and NCA.

The National Matrix Challenge 2020 was created by Shelton and his team, with over 65,000 children and young people taking part in the month-long educational initiative - delivering the highest impact for a police-led engagement project of this type to date.

With over 19 years’ experience in law enforcement, 13 of those years as a Sergeant and leader, he has extensive experience in incident response, physical and digital security, critical incident management, intelligence assessments, threats to life, incident investigation, safeguarding the vulnerable, public order, large-scale operations and working at a strategic level.
